3) OTHER HERD
MEMBERS
 A second batch of G1s were born in 2001, coming again through AI from our
neighbouring diary farmer, this time using semen from Kenilworth O’Reilly,
Elmwood Robson and Silky Oaks Renegade. Seven G1 heifers resulted,
which we hand-raised, selling five. We kept Crofter Mains Erica
and Chakra, both
black non-short cows who have produced their own calves in their turn (see
photo to left). We have two black short-legged G3 cows bought from our neighbour,
Virginia Poland - Bo Beag Eilish and
Kau-iti Exquisite. We also run a
small number of steers, all under our
Adopt-A-Dexter© scheme. These include Soldier Blue
(below, left), Buster (below, middle) and some of our
2004 calves (below, right).
