"The Founder Effect: Origins, Characteristics and Future of the New Zealand Dexter Herd"by Tony Cutten and Alex Meades
A paper presented to the Second World Dexter Congress held in Australia in October 2002. The first two paragraphs of this Paper contain some genetic jargon but it very quickly moves to a very interesting discussion of the history of the NZ Dexter herd and the role of AI bulls, before making more general observations on the genetic influence of natural and artificial breeding methods in national herds.
